How this is made

Facts, an engine, and nothing else.

The moves and results come from the events’ official live broadcasts, as relayed by Lichess. A record of which moves were played is a fact. Every assessment of a position is Stockfish’s, and each story says so.

The words are written from those two things only: no quotes, no guesses about what anybody was thinking, and no photographs — the boards are drawn by Brass Pawn itself. Brass Pawn is not affiliated with the events, the federations or the players.

Brass Pawn

Tactics, positional judgement, endgame technique and coached play, with the engine running on the device itself. No account, and nothing collected — apart from what online play needs: that you are online, and the friends you make.
